This tour offers a delightful culinary immersion experience for people who love French food and wine, Paris bistros and winebars, who delight in exploring vibrant neighborhoods, marche volants and market streets, and who love to meet, talk and taste with culinary artisans. Groups are limited to ten guests.

  • A wine-tasting featuring smaller scale, top-quality French vineyards led by Tim Johnston proprietaire of Juveniles, one of Paris’ most delightful winebars.

  • A walking tour of the exceptional craftsmen and artisans along the Viaduc des Arts, including a visit to a Copper Cookware Atelier, followed by a walk along the Promenade Plantee

Tour Components:

The Paris Culinary Treasures Tour begins on a Saturday morning and runs seven full days.  Guests are encouraged to arrive on Friday to acclimate to jet lag and be ready to go on Saturday morning.  Hotel rooms are available to guests at normal afternoon check in time on the Friday prior to the tour commencing on Saturday morning.

  • 2008 price is $2,975 land only (double occupancy, single supplement available.
  • 2008 tour dates May 10-17 (please arrive in Paris May 9) and October 4-11 (please arrive in Paris October 3).

Tour Leader: An expert Francophile leads this tour. Sally Peabody is the President of Your Great Days in Paris, a specialty travel company that advises independent travelers on accessing their best in Paris. Sally visits Paris several times a year. She writes about food, wine, Paris neighborhoods and French culture for publications such as Travellady.com, JourneyWoman, International Living, TeaExperience, Bonjour Paris, and the Toronto Globe and Mail. She is the co-author of Une Semaine à Paris, a unique book designed to both teach French and plan a great week in Paris. Depending on the level of tour enrollment Sally will be assisted by expert guiding colleagues.

Included: Eight nights in charming three-star hotel in St. Germain des Prés (double occupancy). Daily breakfast and lunch or dinner. Expert guiding. All tour admissions, tea and three tastings, Seine Cruise, metro tickets and passes, Van for Champagne daytrip, Tour of major Champagne house.

Not included: Wine or beverages, snacks and meals other than those noted as included in the tour. Guests are requested to pay an additional $150 ‘wine kitty’ to cover wine with meals when not included in a menu or in a tasting. Travel insurance is not included and guests are strongly urged to purchase insurance.

Cost: $2,975 per person. Single supplement available.

Deposit: $350. Balance due 70 days prior to departure.

Dress:  comfortable business-casual clothing. Comfortable walking shoes!

Physical mobility: This tour involves a steady pace of walking and moving around Paris and requires the ability to climb metro stairs and walk, or be on one’s feet, for several hours each day.  We use the metro and buses extensively.  While we encourage flexibility, if guests decide to leave the tour activities early in the day they are responsible for their return to the hotel or for moving on to their chosen activity.

Deposit, Payment and Cancellation Policies

  • Your Great Days in Paris requires a $350 deposit per person to book space on the tour.
  • Balance of payment is due on February 28 for the May Tour and on July 28 for the October Tour. Payment can be via check to Your Great Days in Paris LLC, or, via credit card.
